Links

European

european_golf_club.jpgThe links of The European Club is located in magnificent sand dunes on the Irish Sea about 35-miles south from Dublin city centre. Designed and built by well known golf writer and architect Pat Ruddy, The European Club is operated by him with the help of his family. Ruddy’s work is also to be found also at such highly regarded venues as Ballyliffin (Glashedy), Druids Glen, Rosapenna, and Montreal Island Golf Club.

The European Club is a truly magnificent addition to the world's short supply of approximately 160 true links (51 of these are in Ireland). The links features 20-holes (two extra holes are in play most days) of exciting links golf through tumbling dunes with dramatic views of the Irish Sea from no fewer than sixteen of the holes! Some of the holes play along the beach!

Rosslare

The old course is now joined by the excellent 12 hole “Burrow Course”, thus ensuring that the requirements of all golfing enthusiasts are catered for.

Toughest hole is at 17, a 440-yard dogleg left requiring well placed drive and long second to make the green.

St Helen's Bay Golf Resort

st_helens_bay_golf_club.jpgSt Helen's Bay Golf Resort, since opening in 1993, has developed into one of Ireland's foremost golf resorts. With an 18 hole championship course, a mix of parkland and links, panoramic views of the bay and Tuskar Rock, along with comfortable 4 Star on-site cottage style accommodation, guests are guaranteed an enjoyable golfing experience.

No golfer will fail to be impressed by the challenging closing holes where club selection is vital to avoid the beach.

Parkland

Waterford Castle Golf Club

waterford_castle_golf_club.jpgSituated on an island in the Waterford Estuary, Ireland's only true island golf course surrounded by the River Suir and accessed by private ferry.

Designed by Des Smyth, former Ryder Cup player and current European tour member, and opened in 1992, this 18-hole, par 72 championship golf course leads you through mature woodland and parkland. The course itself runs to 6,814 yards, off the medal tees, and covers an area of over 200 acres. The views from the course are superb and the luxurious Waterford Castle Hotel equally spectacular.

Faithlegg Golf Club

faithlegg_golf_club.jpgOpened in May 1993, Faithlegg golf course in Waterford was designed by renowned Irish golf courses architect Paddy Merrigan. Boasting a superb setting on the banks of the River Suir, the course has been cleverly moulded into a wonderful landscape of mature trees, flowing parkland and some five lakes.

Situated on the same 200 acre estate as Faithlegg House Hotel, just 6 miles from Waterford City in the heart of Ireland’s sunny South East, Faithlegg is the ideal venue for individuals and corporate or society outings. For visiting golfers, Faithlegg is the perfect inclusion as part of any golfing itinerary in the region.

The superb parkland layout, with tricky doglegs, blind tee shots and strategically positioned sand traps, represents a stiff challenge for even the most accomplished golfers. At a championship yardage of 6,674 and a regular yardage from the white markers of 6,284, distance is rarely the main problem in negotiating a good score at Faithlegg.
